Optometrist Ellijay Ga
Dr. Parker is a native of Florida and a graduate of the University of South Florida with a degree in biology with an emphasis on biotechnology. After graduation, he served as a research biologist at the Roscamp Institute, a collaboration between the University of South Florida and James Haley VA Hospital that studied the genetic influences of Alzheimer's Disease.
Dr. Parker decided that the world of academic scientific research was not a good fit for him, and so in 1998, he decided to pursue a career in optometry. He graduated with honors from Southern College of Optometry in 2003. He practiced in Kentucky for four years while his wife attended the University of Kentucky and then they returned to his hometown of Dade City, Florida.
For the next decade, Dr. Parker was employed at a four-location ophthalmology practice as the sole optometrist working alongside five ophthalmologists including oculoplastic specialists, retinal specialists, cornea specialists, and general ophthalmologists.
This experience provided Dr. Parker with broad exposure to a large variety of ocular conditions and pathologies. The pandemic of 2020 brought Dr. Parker to the north Georgia mountains to be closer to his in-laws because his wife said so.
Dr. Parker has worked the past ten years in a large ophthalmology practice with a retina specialist and a cornea specialist and is highly qualified to take care of you and your family.
Dr. Timothy Parker is conveniently inside the Walmart Vision Center from Friday - Sunday. Our belief is that getting access to vision treatment should be convenient and affordable. Dr. Parker discounts his charges, not his care. That is why our motto is "No insurance? That's not a problem!"
